    Professor Reed took over as Director of the Center for Sales Excellence and Customer Delight in the Fall of 2020. He joined UNCW from the University of New Mexico, where he taught for five years. Prior to that, he taught at Southern Illinois University and Central Connecticut State University. His eleven years’ teaching experience includes courses in Professional Sales, Sales Management and Sales Force Automation.

    Prior to teaching, he spent 30 years in the corporate world in marketing and sales, including 15 years as President of Reed Direct Marketing, an independent marketing consulting firm he founded. His corporate experience includes senior marketing positions with Citicorp, Grolier Enterprises and MBI, Inc.

    Professor Reed earned his BA in Accounting and Finance from the University of Missouri and his MBA from Harvard Business School.



Lisa ScribnerDr. Lisa Scribner

    Dr. Scribner has been Chair of the Department of Marketing at CSB for four years and has contributed significantly to the department’s growth and development. She led the founding of our Center for Sales Excellence & Customer Delight and continues to oversee it.

    Dr. Scribner joined UNCW from the University of South Carolina in 1997 and serves as the primary point-of-contact for many of our affiliate organizations.

    Dr. Scribner earned her BSBA in Marketing and Spanish from Ball State University and her PhD in Marketing from the University of South Carolina.



Matt LastnerDr. Matt Lastner

    Dr. Lastner teaches our introductory Professional Sales course as well as our Sales Management course. In these courses, he utilizes role plays and is closely engaged with our Sales Center Partners as well as other Sales Center Affiliates, including local sales organizations and sales professionals.

    Dr. Lastner is also our primary team leader for outside sales competitions and has been instrumental in team selection, coaching and logistics.

    Dr. Lastner earned his BA in Marketing from James Madison University, his MBA in Marketing from the University of Maryland and his PhD in Marketing from Louisiana State University. Prior to joining UNCW in 2019, Dr. Lastner taught at Illinois State University.



Mark PelletierDr. Mark Pelletier

    Dr. Pelletier developed and teaches our course in Advanced Sales, as well as Sales Management and Professional Sales. He is actively involved with our Sales Center Partners and with our special events. He serves as the moderator for our Sales Forums.

    Dr. Pelletier earned his BS Degree from UNLV, his MBA in Marketing from the University of Wisconsin and his PhD from Mississippi State University. He joined the UNCW faculty in 2017.



Donald BarnesDr. Donald Barnes

    Dr. Barnes is a recognized leader in the field of customer delight and works with our sales center partners to incorporate cutting-edge practices in their organizations. His research has been published in leading marketing journals, including The Journal of Services Marketing, Journal of Marketing Theory and Practice and Journal of Professional Selling and Sales Management.

    Dr. Barnes is teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and is a key contributor to the Marketing Department and the Center for Sales Excellence and Customer Delight. He is the initial recipient of the Hendrick Faculty Fellowship in Marketing.

    Dr. Barnes earned his BS in Finance from the State University of New York, his MBA in Marketing from Clemson University and his PhD in Marketing from Mississippi State University.
