TABSA Admissions - International Student Application Instructions

If you wish to study at UNCW through the TABSA program, you must apply through your home school. Once your home school has approved your entrance into the UNCW TABSA program, you will need to complete the following steps:

  1. Register for an account at the College Foundation of North Carolina
  2. After registering for an account, click on ‘Apply to College’
    • Click on the “Application Hub” on the right hand side menu
    • Select ‘Start an Application’
    • Search for ‘UNC Wilmington’
    • Select the University of North Carolina Wilmington Undergraduate Application
    • Click “Apply”
  3. Once you have started the UNCW Undergraduate application, on the Enrollment Information tab, be sure to select “Transfer” as the Applicant Type. Be sure to also include the following as you complete the application:
    • Essay – Be sure to complete the essay portion of the application and to include:
      • A short summary of your personal background
      • Explanation of your interest in the program
      • Your academic and professional goals
    • College Information – You will have to enter in the name of your current college manually. On the College Information tab:
      • Select “Click Here if your school is not in the list”
      • Enter the name of your college, the country and city, and the dates attended
    • Submit the required $80 application fee.
  4. After you submit the application through the College Foundation of North Carolina (CFNC), you will receive an email from the Office of Admissions in 24 hours with your SeaLevel applicant portal login information. You can view your application status and missing items through your SeaLevel applicant portal.
  5. You will also need to provide a hard copy of the following:
    • Current transcript from your home university
    • Arbitur/Baccalaureate/Pruebas/BTEC/etc.
    • Proof of Language Proficiency (TOEFL, IELTS, Pearson, Duolingo, Language Proficiency Report)
  6. After you receive notification from Admissions you will be contacted by the International Student & Scholar Services Office with instructions on applying for your Form I-20 immigration document in order to get your F-1 visa. Note: The $100 Enrollment Deposit is waived for TABSA students upon admission to the university.
