CFA Institute Scholarships

As a CFA Institute Recognized University, the UNCW Cameron School of Business, Department of Economics & Finance is pleased to offer up to FIVE reduced-fee scholarships for students in their last year of undergraduate study who wish to register for the June Level I Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) exam. 

OVERVIEW:

The scholarship covers the one-time CFA Program enrollment fee and reduces the exam registration fee to $350 (includes access to the curriculum eBook). Recipients of the scholarship may only apply it towards the upcoming June exam.

Please note: students who have registered at full price for June are eligible for the scholarship, and the difference in registration cost will be refunded by CFA Institute.

  • Application deadline: 5:00 PM Monday, 24 September 2018

TO APPLY:

Step 1: Submit the CFA Institute portion of the application online at https://www.cfainstitute.org/en/programs/cfa/scholarships/student. You will need to establish an account at the CFA Institute in order to have access to the application; there is no cost involved to establish an account. Also, If the application asks for the University’s principal contact, please list Dr. William Sackley.

Step 2: Submit the CSB portion of the application to:

NOTES:

  • If you would like to speak with a faculty member who holds the CFA designation about the benefits of seeking this designation, please make an appointment with Dr. Sackley (sackleyw@uncw.edu).
  • Applications may be submitted after the September 24, 2018 priority deadline, but will be considered only if some scholarships remain unawarded at that time.
  • If you are awarded a scholarship, then to register for the exam, you must have an international travel passport.
  • The June 2019 CFA Level I exam will be offered on June 15 or June 16 (religious alternative exam date). See CFA Institute calendar information for more information.
