Admission Requirements

To be considered for admission to the MSBA graduate program, applicants must meet the criteria for admission to the Graduate School. Meeting this condition does not guarantee admission. Minimum criteria include the following:

  • An earned undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of one course in statistics with a grade of at least “B”.

Applicants seeking admission are required to submit the following to the UNCW Graduate School:

  • An official application for graduate admissions (choose fall as the term)
  • Official transcripts of all college work (graduate and undergraduate)

Note that if you attended UNCW, you do not have to request UNCW transcripts.

  • Three letters of recommendation by individuals who can comment on the applicant's potential for successful completion of a master's degree program (only recommendations submitted as part of the on-line application process will be accepted). 
  • All applicants must submit a resume. Please include a cover letter with your resume that serves as your statement of interest.
  • A non-refundable application fee of $75.00.
    • For international students, a test of English Proficiency: either TOEFL or IELTS. The test date must be within two years of the date of application. An application will not be reviewed until we receive satisfactory scores. The TOEFL minimum score is 79 with no subsection under 11. The IELTS minimum score is 6.5.
  • Note: The GMAT or GRE is not required.
