Minor in Cybersecurity

The Minor in Cybersecurity is open to all UNCW students. To earn a minor in cybersecurity requires completion of 18 hours, including 12 hours of core courses and 6 hours of electives, with a minimum 6 hours at the 300 level. Students must earn a C or above in all classes in the minor and a grade of at least C- in each course.

  • MIS 323: Business Telecommunications and Enabling Technologies or
  • CSC 344: Network Fundamentals
  • MIS 322: Information Assurance and Security
  • MIS 324: Information Security Management
  • MIS 352: Network Systems Administration
  • MIS 365: Ethical Hacking


The following courses are approved by the department chair on a case by case basis (Cybersecurity focus):
