The mission of the CSB Office of Student Professional Development is to assist students in achieving their career goals. Students are advised on the internship process to include recent trends, researching opportunities, and academic procedures. The Office establishes connections and facilitates interaction among undergraduate students, graduate students, alumni, employers, and organizations to generate and communicate opportunities that help students pursue their personal and professional objectives.

CSB’s Office of Student Professional Development works closely with employers to simplify and maximize their recruitment efforts by: 

  • Consulting with organizations to understand their immediate and future hiring needs
  • Developing targeted recruitment strategies
  • Providing a variety of effective promotional resources

Teresa Walker, Director of Student Professional Development for the Cameron School of Business, has over 18 years of experience working in post-secondary education, career services and employer relations. Prior to UNCW Cameron School of Business, she held the positions of Internship Coordinator and Assistant Director of Career Services for the Love School of Business at Elon University. She received an undergraduate degree from Appalachian State University and an MBA from Elon University.

Sara Kesler, Assistant Director of Student Professional Development for the Cameron School of Business, joined the CSB staff in 2014. She began her work in post-secondary education in the External Programs Office, working closely with the Cameron Executive Network and Business Week. Prior to UNCW Cameron School of Business, she worked as the Recruitment Manager for Home Instead Senior Care and as an elementary school teacher. She received both her undergraduate degree and MBA from UNCW.
