.Choose a Concentration in Business Administration

What's Required for Admission?

  • Bachelor of Science in Business Administration

    To be formally admitted to the Bachelor of Science with a major in Business Administration, a student must meet each of the following admission requirements:

    1. Complete the Admission Courses with a C- or better
      • or
      • or
      • ACG 201 and ACGL 201 (lab)
      • ECN 221
      • ECN 222
      • MIS 213 or 313 *Required for 2018-2019 catalogue and beyond
    2. Earn a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA at UNCW
    3. Earn Sophomore standing with 30+ credit hours
    4. Earn Residency of 12 credit hours at UNCW in CSB coursework (can include courses listed above)
  • Bachelor of Arts in Economics

    To be formally admitted to the Bachelor of Arts with a major in Economics, a student must meet each of the following admission requirements:

    1. Complete the Admission Courses with a C- or better
      • or
      • or STT 215
      • ECN 221
      • ECN 222
    2. Earn a minimum 2.7 cumulative GPA at UNCW
    3. Earn Sophomore standing with 30+ credit hours
    4. Earn Residency of 12 credit hours at UNCW, including at least 6 hours of Economics at the 200 level of higher

Undergraduate students in Cameron must select a "Concentration" for their business degree.  Learn more about course requirements for each Concentration.

How Do I Become a Business Major?

Undergraduate students are always first classified as Pre-Business or Pre-Economics until the criteria for CSB Admission is achieved. 

  • Prospective (new) students to UNCW will apply for Pre-Business through UNCW admissions office. 
  • Current UNCW students who are interested in changing majors, may declare Pre-Business using the online Declaration system available in mySeaport.
  • Current Pre-Business students who meet the CSB admission criteria, may apply through the myCSB portal at the direction of their assigned Academic Advisor.
