The 11th annual Wilmington Information Technology eXchange kicked off Tuesday afternoon on the campus of UNCW. According to the university, the event is designed to bring students, faculty, staff and local technology vendors together to demonstrate the technologies they are developing or implementing.

Jason Gillikin, a UNCW graduate student, is seeing the college campus in a whole new way, thanks to his master's thesis project. Gillikin will present his drone Tuesday at UNCW's WITX conference.

Charleston's Digital Corridor Could Offer Lessons for Wilmington

The expansion of the Digital Corridor is one of Charleston, South Carolina’s chief growth strategies. It's an economic development initiative that puts the focus on knowledge-based companies. Before Executive Director Ernest Andrade takes the podium Tuesday as keynote speaker at UNCW’s WITX, he shares some of the lessons Wilmington can learn.
