Progress Reports

Assessment of CSB learning goals is a multifaceted and continual process, involving all departments and programs within the CSB. The AOL Committee conducts periodic reviews of assessment results, making recommendations for review by other committees and groups as appropriate.

B.S. in Business Administration

  • Goal 1: Our students will be able to integrate discipline-specific knowledge across functional areas and utilize leadership and team skills to accomplish group tasks.
  • Goal 2: Our students will demonstrate critical thinking and problem solving skills through problem identification, analysis and synthesis of data, evaluation of alternatives, and defense of a solution
  • Goal 3: Our students will be able to conceptualize a complex issue into a coherent written statement and oral presentation, demonstrated with the effective use of technology.
  • Goal 4: Our students will understand the importance of social responsibility, diversity, ethics and legal issues.
  • Goal 5: Our students will demonstrate an understanding of global business practices that embraces the opportunities of multicultural, diverse environments, as they relate to local, national and global operations.

B.A. Economics

  • Goal 1:Our students will understand key economic principles and models.
  • Goal 2: Our students will be able to analyze and interpret quantitative data.
  • Goal 3: Our graduates will have the necessary oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with their stakeholders.

MBA Goals

  • Goal 1: Our graduates will understand the importance of ethics, corporate social responsibility and the need to reflect that understanding in their actions and decisions.
  • Goal 2: Our graduates will have the leadership and team-building skills necessary to lead organizations in a dynamic environment, i.e. can act as change agents.
  • Goal 3: Our graduates will have the necessary oral and written communication skills to effectively interact with their stakeholders.
  • Goal 4: Our graduates will be able to apply knowledge in unfamiliar and dynamic circumstances through a conceptual understanding of relevant disciplines (critical thinking skills).
  • Goal 5: Our graduates will have the capacity to adapt and innovate to solve problems, to cope with unforeseen events, and to manage in unpredictable environments (change agent).
  • Goal 6: Our graduates will demonstrate an understanding of global business practices that embraces the opportunities of multicultural, diverse environments, as they related to local, national and global operations.

MSA Goals

  • Goal 1: Our graduates will have the skills necessary for critical thinking, professional research, and continuous learning.
  • Goal 2: Our graduates will develop a global perspective of business and accounting practices.
  • Goal 3: Our graduates will provide a framework for developing leadership and team building skills.
  • Goal 4: To provide a framework for recognizing the importance of social responsibility and making ethical business decisions (knowledge).
  • Goal 5: Our graduates will have effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.

MS CSIS Goals

  • Goal 1: Graduates will be able to formulate and solve problems using advanced mathematics and numerical methods, and computer information systems-based techniques.
  • Goal 2: Graduates will demonstrate knowledge of ethics and professionalism, and understand contemporary issues such as green computing, data security, privacy, and compliance with regulations.
  • Goal 3: Graduates will be able to complete analysis and design of business processes employing the latest information technology techniques, including the unified process model.
  • Goal 4: Graduates will be able to apply science and business principles to analyze and interpret data, using analytic and computer-based techniques.
  • Goal 5: Graduates will demonstrate effective communication through written and oral presentations.
  • Goal 6: Graduates will be exposed to a variety of advanced technology communications tools, such as web-conferencing, wikis, social networking software.
